i5/OS Adapters
TIBCO Adapters provide pre-built integration with target systems and can be used by services created in TIBCO BusinessWorks™. The following i5/OS adapters are available:
- TIBCO Adapter for IBM AS/400
- TIBCO Adapter for Files i5/OS
TIBCO Adapter for IBM AS/400
TIBCO Adapter for IBM AS/400 allows publish or subscribe or request-response message exchanges between TIBCO applications and applications running on an i5/OS (AS/400) machine.
Support is provided for:
- Invoking programs on an i5/OS (AS/400) machine
- Enabling applications running on i5/OS to send outbound messages and optionally receive a reply
- Writing messages to a data queue
- Reading messages from a data queue
- Retrieving a spooled files list
- Converting a spooled file to a PDF format
TIBCO Adapter for Files i5/OS
TIBCO Adapter for Files i5/OS provides bi-directional access between files on i5/OS (AS/400) and the TIBCO messaging infrastructure. It is typically used to transfer files from i5/OS to TIBCO applications resident on other platforms. It's especially useful in batch environments but can also be used in real time.
TIBCO Rendezvous Messaging
The TIBCO Rendezvous® messaging system is fully supported on the i5/OS platform. In addition, the Rendezvous Application Programming Interface (API) is available for development of custom applications for i5/OS. The API is available for programming in both C and Java.
System Monitoring with TIBCO Hawk for AS/400
TIBCO Hawk®, which is distributed IT monitoring and management software, can be used by companies running i5/OS (AS/400) systems. Support is provided for agents, which monitor and act upon local operating conditions, and micro-agents, which act as an interface to managed applications.
